"FIRST AID, THIS WAY"
In the darkness of night, litter-bearers in response to the pitiful wail. "First aid, this way!", crawled through the fields which were drenched with blood. Hundreds of men were lying where guns had cut them down.
 
IN GOD'S TABERNACLE
1st Field Hospital Unit of the 2nd Division at Bezu, France, June 16, 1918, in the interior of medieval church. Here men suffered and died, or lived in the constant and nerve-racking fear of bombs from enemy planes.
