STOPPING THE DRIVE
Artillery, 1st Div., changing positions at Soissons. After 3 days of terrific fighting, it was apparent that the great "peace offensive" was collapsing. The Germans advanced only 6 miles, being driven back by the 28th Div.
 
AS THE EARTH TURNS
103rd Infantry, 26th Div., jumping off, 4:30 A.M., July 18. They did not stop until they had captured Torcy, Belleau and Givry. On the 24th, they occupied a line in the Foret de Fere, where they were relieved by the 42nd Div.
