Gas Ward, Field Hospital No. 326, near Royaumeix. German chemical warfare, introduced to French, April, 1915, created problems which still baffle medical science. Tuberculosis and other terrible diseases follow in the wake of gas.
 
"DEATH FOLLOWS A FORMULA"
Suffering boys' nerves were "shot" in the operating room of a hospital unit. Anaesthetics were frequently unavailable; gangrene and osteomyelitis sometimes developed. Here many of our boys went shrieking into the Great Behond.
