IT WAS A GHOST OF A WORLD
Rats and vermin were the principal inhabitants of this waste which was known as No Man's Land. Across the muck and filth of this stretch of country, the wounded men tried to drag themselves back to the first aid stations.
 
THE MILITARY POLICE WAS KING HERE
