NEWS FROM THE OUTSIDE WAS SCARCE
Men of 315th Field Signal Bn. and 357th Inf., 90th Div., Blercourt, Oct. 14, 1918. Newspapers, with their reports of the war, were not very plentiful in the fighting area. This group of Yanks is devouring the London Daily Mail.
 
ONLY ONE WHO HAS LIVED LIKE THIS APPRECIATES THE COMFORTS OF PEACE
Dugout used by officers of the 4th Div., near Buisy. It was opened by Major General John L. Hines, who may be seen in the center of the picture. Before Americans took possession of it, the dugout was used by German officers.
