- Geared Locomotives - Willamette
-
- Willamette geared locomotives were produced by Willamette
Iron & Steel Works
- of Portland, Oregon. A total of 33, two- and three-truck
geared locomotives were
- produced by them between the years of 1922 and 1929. These
locomotives used
- the same basic design as the Lima Shay locomotive. Limas
patents had expired
- which allowed the Willamette Iron & Steel Works enter
the market. These geared
- locomotives had many design improvements over the other
geared locomotives
- then being offered.
