Funeral Rites For Mrs. Nancy McQueen Held Valera Friday
Mrs. Nancy A. McQueen died at two o'clock last Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. U. Nealy, five miles south of Voss after an illness of about three months. Her husband died March 20, 1899, after serving Mexican and Civil wars.
Services were held at the First Methodist church in Valera Friday. Burial was at Glen Cove, Rev. Tolbert, pastor of Valera Methodist church, was in charge of the funeral. Mrs. McQueen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Wicker, Voss, was born October 4, 1859 at Crockett, Texas. She was 78 years old.
Survivors are a son Edgar McQueen, Crockett; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Nealy, of Voss; a step-son, John McQueen of Fisk; a step-daughter Mrs. C. J. Crenshaw, of Dripping Springs.
Pallbearers were Cecil McQueen, Jack McQueen, Edgar Nealy, Claude McQueen, Jeff McQueen and Otis McQueen.
Funeral arrangements were made by Mead Furniture and Undertaking.
