John Bell McKinney was born 3 October 1845 to
William Clement McKINNEY and Harriet Ann WRAY, Tishomingo County, Mississippi.
He married Julia Virginia HARRIS, 24 November 1867, Pearsall, Frío County;
married Martha Harriet PETTY. He died 28 November 1934, Beeville, Bee
County, Texas and was interred Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ozona, Crockett County,
Texas.
Service--Company F, 1st Texas Cavalry (Büchels', later Yager's 1st)
He received Texas Confederate pension # 39806, approved 15 April 1924 while
living in Sutton County. John Bell McKINNEY was living in Crockett County
when either the 1900 or 1910 censuses were taken. Several of his family
members are interred there as is one of my NANCEs. I descend from his
brother George Washington McKINNEY, my great-great grandfather. I also
descend from Joseph Johnson NANCE who was an early Crockett County tax assessor.
