Okay, so Old Rip doesn't have anything to do with genealogy. But he is a part of Eastland Co. history. Perhaps your grandfather was the one to put him in the cornerstone, or maybe he was there when Rip was found. So, I think in a way, Rip does fit in to our genealogy.
