      Florine Fudge, 93, of Hewitt, passed away Saturday, March 29,2003, at a local hospital. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum with Ernie Christie, pastor of Lakeshore Methodist Church officiating. Also assisting with the service will be Dennis Crecelius.
Burial was in the Waco Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel at 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Florine was born on April 29,1909, in Ellis County to Alex B. and Ezmer Inez (Phillips) Crumpton. She was united in marriage to Solon E. Fudge on Oct. 15,1927 in Milford and was a member of the Lakeshore Drive Church of Christ. Her husband Solon preceded her in death on March 31,1982.
 She is survived by her daughter June Beatty and husband Charles R. of Hewitt; grandsons, Stephen R. Beatty and wife Linda of China Spring and Coke B. Beatty and wife Mitzi of Stephenville; granddaughter, Nancy Mullens and husband Steve of Riesel; great-grandchildren, Sean and Mindy Beatty, Josh, Aaron, and Caleb Mullens, Collin, Jordan, Brooke, Blake and Ally Beatty; Cousin, Juanity Pitcher Hewitt; sisters-in-law, Dot Crumpton and Clara Crumpton; brother-in-law, L.J. Dickerson; and several nieces and nephews.

Buster John Benedittine, 87, of Axtell passed away at his residence Saturday, March 29, 2003. Prayer services were at 3 p.m. Monday, March 31,at Bellmead Funeral Home. A rosary was at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 1 at Laird Funeral Home in Nachez, Miss. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, April 2, at Laird Funeral Home. Burial followed at Natchez City Cemetery.
Mr. Benedittine was born May 27,1915, in Newelton, La. He retired from General Tire after 30 years of service. He has resided in Axtell for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilio and Rosa Benedittine and a son, Robert Joseph Benedittine; and four sisters.
He is survived by a son, Larry Don Benedittine Sr.; daughters, Rose Ann Curtis and Sara Benedittine; daughter-in-law, Jaimie Lynn Benedittine; grandchildren, Larry Don Benedittine Jr., Bobbie Lynn Moore, Kevin Curtis, and Karen Tucker; great-grandchildren, Kacie Curtis and Kaylee Tucker.

Wylie H. Huse, age 84, of Malone, passed away Monday afternoon, March 31,
2003 at Hill Regional Hospital in Malone.
A prayer service was held at 5:30 p.m., and it was followed by a visitation until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Chapel in West.  Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Salem Cemetery near Malone, with Rev. David Jeske officiating.
Mr. Huse was born on December 6, 1918 near the Walling Community, the son of Adolph and Freda (Radke) Huse.  He attended Salem Lutheran School near Malone.  He married Lydia Ida Zettler on May 3, 1954 in Malone. Wylie was a farmer all of his life.  He loved plowing in the fields, working with his cattle and fixing fence.  He was a member of Salem Lutheran church in Malone.  He is preceded in death by a brother, Willie Huse; a sister, Frances Enders; and a nephew, Donnie Enders.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Lydia Huse of Malone; a son, Allen Dean Huse of Malone and his wife Theresa; several nieces and nephews, including Margie Kucera and husband Edwin; and many great nieces, and nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to help with funeral expenses.

Services for Mrs. Laura Whitfield Miller, of Mart, were at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Mart.  Burial was in the Doris Miller Cemetery. Rev. Willie Hurth Jr. officiated.  A wake was on Friday, April 18, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. at W.H. Littles & Sons Morturay in Waco. Mrs. Miller was an educator and devoted her life to developing the young minds of our children.  She was employed by Mart Independent School District.  Survivors include her husband, John Miller; son, Ernest Wayne Whitfield of Mico, Texas; sister, Katherine Kelly of Long Beach, CA; brother, James Graham of Mart; daughter-in-law, Karen D. Whitfield; and grandchildren, John Wesley Perry III, Candice Renee and Brian Whitfield.

Thomas Glenn Beeman, 51, was born July 20, 1951 and went to be with his Lord, April 10,2003, after a six month battle with cancer.  Tom was a 1969 graduate of Mart High School.  He was a proud veteran that served his country in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Lydia; daughter, Stephanie and Sarah; parents, Marvin and Allie Beeman; sisters, Peggy Cantrell, Linda Thomasson, Nell Kimball; and brother, Thomas Eugene. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at the Christian Temple Assembly of God Church, and interment followed in the Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.


Benjamin Howard Goodwin, 47, of Mart passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2003, in an accident near Waco.  The family had a memorial service Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Davis Cemetery in Leander. Benjamin was born Jan. 15, 1956, in Amarillo to Carl and Roberta (Amindon) Goodwin.  He served in the Army. On June 20, 1981, he married his wife Peggy in Austin. He was an air conditioning technician and was a member of Promiseland Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Goodwin of Mart and daughters, Candance Goodwin of Austin and Michelle Smith of Springfield, Mo.
