Michael Glenn (Mike) Burns, Jr., 22, of Waco died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Pat Cummings officiating. Burial will be at Rosemound Cemetery.
Mr. Burns was born November 29, 1966 in Waco and graduated from China Spring High School in 1985. He was employed by Ready Enterprises in Waco and was a member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Mike and Nancy Burns of Waco, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Burns of Waco, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zelem of Bellmead; and one sister, Gina Lynette Burns of Waco.
The family has designated for memorials the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children in care of Karem Temple of Waco.
Susie Isbell Orrick, 103, of Nederland, formerly of Waco, died Sunday in a Port Arthur hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pat A. Riley Funeral Chapel in Nederland. Burial will be in Oak Bluff Cemetery in Nederland.
Mrs. Orrick was born Dec. 21, 1885, in Grimes County and she was a longtime Waco resident. She was a retired field representative for several Baptist Colleges, including Baylor University.
Survivors include a daughter, Lena Dalton Hawthorne of Nederland; eight grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Leonard (Billy) Elrod, 74, of Waco died Sunday in a local hospital.
Military graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery, the Rev. Greg Brumit officiating.
Mr. Elrod was born August 15, 1914, in Munford, Ala., and attended schools in Sylacauga, Ala. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and Korea. He worked in textile mills in Central Texas, retiring in 1960. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtis Elrod of Waco; two sons, Michael Elrod and Robert Handley both of Waco; a daughter, Wanda Stanford of Robinson; a brother, C.W. Elrod of Alabama; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
