Mrs. Brown (Willie Pearl) Clonts, a long-time resident of Mart, died Saturday at a Houston hospital. She was 83. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Littlepage Funeral Home Chapel in Mart, with the Rev. W.H. Smith officiating. Burial was in Mart Cemetery. Mrs. Clonts was born Willie Pearl Holder, Feb. 3, 1903, in Ben Hur. She graduated from Mart High School in 1927. She married Brown Clonts, July 20, 1929 in Waco. He died March 20, 1983. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mart, where she taught Sunday school in the Junior Department for many years. The past three years, she lived in Heartland Nursing Home in Houston. Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn Brown-Cohen of Denver, and Gail Clonts Davis of Houston; a son-in-law, Jerry A. Davis of Houston; seven grandchildren, Eileen Brown Johnson, Marcia Brown, and Scott Davis all of Denver; Michell Brown of Austin, and Lisa Davis Miller of Fort Worth; and one great-grandchild, Michael Johnson of Houston. The family has designated the First Baptist Church in Mart for Memorials.
