NEGRO LOOSES HIS LIFE NEAR CONOLY'S SWITCH
Ed Masters, a negro, about 25 years of age, was killed during Saturday night on the I.& G.N. track near Conoly's switch.
The top of the man's head was cut open, and death resulted instantly. Masters, it is believed from surrounding circumstances, was asleep on the track when he was struck. He was probably killed by a train northbound.
His body was discovered by the trainmen on the northbound passenger and Conductor Terry, of this train, notified Sheriff Poole upon arriving in Marlin. The sheriff and Justice Hutchings went down and held an inquest. -
