 DIED
John Pittman, age 51 years, formerly of Kirk community but more recently of West Texas, died March 1, at Abilene, the body being shipped via Mart to Kirk for interment at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
Deceased is survived by his mother and a sister, Mrs. Rowe, of Groesbeck.

Friday, 8 a.m. Mrs. Nellie Anne Rogers, wife of Eugene Rogers, 4 miles west of Big Hill. Interment Big Hill cemetery Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Service conducted by Rev. J.W. Bond. Deceased is survived by a husband and five children.

MARCH 26, 1920

 VETERAN J. B. REED DIES
The Death of J. B. Reed, age 76, occurred at his home at Kirk, at 1 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, following a two week illness from influenza and pneumonia. Interment Kirk cemetery the following afternoon at 3 o'clock.
Deceased was a Confederate veteran, and highly respected citizen of his community. He came to Texas from Louisiana 43 years ago, 42 years of which time has been spent at Kirk. He was a consistent member of the Baptist church, a man of sterling character who will be missed by his community and all who knew him.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter and three sons Mrs. G.T. Pierce, F.W. Reed of Kirk, Newt and Scott Reed of Groesbeck.
