 LORRAINE SMITH
Lorraine Smith, 87, of Waco, passed away Monday, March 1, 2004, at Crestview Healthcare Center. Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with Chaplain Patricia Patton officiating. Burial followed in Rosemound Cemetery in Waco.
 Mrs. Smith was born May 8, 1916, in Elk, Texas, to Tom and Caddie Honey, and attended school there. She was the ninth of 12 children. Lorraine was married to Alvin Smith, in 1933 at Marlin. They had two children, Margie Ray and Jerry Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Margie Ray and husband Sam of Waco; son, Jerry D. Smith and wife Gena of Riesel; grandchildren, Sam Ray Jr. and wife Beverly of Waco, Cynthia Bucher and husband Randy of Valley Mills, Suzanne Villarreal and husband John of New York, Tracy, Katie, and Cody Smith of Riesel, and Lori McCoy and husband Greg of Germany; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Bradshaw; brother-in-law Robert Collier of Houston; sister-in-law Mamie Leftwich of Hewitt; and many nieces and nephews.


 MAPLE STAFFORD
Maple Stafford, 94, of Mart, passed away Thursday, March 4,2004, at a local nursing home. Services were conducted Saturday, March 6, at Lijttlepage Funeral Home in Mart with Eddie Montgomery, minister, officiating. Burial followed at Prairie Hill Cemetery.
Maple was born May 30,1909, in Aquilla, Texas. She was married to R.
0. Stafford from 1924 until his death in 1986. Granny enjoyed watching wrestling and she loved Elvis!
She is survived by her four children, Ruth Geddie and husband George of Bellmead, Pratt Stafford and wife Maybell of Bellmead, Evelyn Lewis of Grand Prairie, and Bobby Stafford and wife Charlene (Dolly) of Bellmead; seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Barry Sherich, Trenten Lewis, Keith Lewis, Dusty Miller, Shaine Snider, and David Graves.
