 MRS.T.D. SUTTLE DIES
Following a lingering illness of several weeks, Mrs. Annie Suttle, age 73, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joe Teer, North Mart. She was one of the pioneer mothers of this section, a good and useful woman, and leaves fifteen children, ten sons and five daughters, to mourn her loss. Her husband, Rev. T. D. Suttle, was at one time an honored Pastor of the Mart Baptist church, and rendered valuable service to the community in his day. Two of the sons are ministers. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Baptist church, conducted by Rev. B F. Tatum, a former Pastor and old friend of the family. Pastor J.W. Mayfield being away in a meeting at Thornton, could not be present.
Interment was made in Mart cemetery. The Herald is furnished the following data concerning the family of deceased:
Mrs. Annie Suttle, wife of deceased Rev. T. R Suttle was born Oct. 19,1843; died Nov. 7, 1916. Was married May 19,1861. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Jerusha Valentine. One brother, Caloin Gates, and the following children: J.C. Suttle, W.M. Suttle, J.T. Suttle, Prof. Isaac Suttle, D.W. Suttle, Revs. F.E. and F.A. Suttle. Rev. T. M. Suttle, S.W. Suttle, Rev. H. C. Suttle, Mrs. Mary Gates, Mrs. Lenora Teer, Mrs. Cora Reynolds, Mrs. Sallie Hall, Miss Ludie Suttle.
She was converted at an early age and united with the Baptist church, living a devoted Christian life sharing the joys and trials of an active, pastor's life for more than 36 years.
