Murray Cemetery, Eastland County, Texas is located on Highway 6 about two miles southeast of Carbon, Texas. Murray Cemetery has been in existence since 1937.

About ten acres of land was donated by the Murray family. It is thought that it was donated by Sam Murray. The first person to be buried in the cemetery was buried on December 11, 1937. Two people were buried on this day. Mr. John T. Weaver was the first person to be buried in the cemetery. He was buried in the  morning of December 11, 1937 and a Missouri Murray was buried in the afternoon. There was another person, name unknown, buried shortly thereafter. (This  information was gathered by Dale Walker of Carbon, Eastland County, Texas.)

Murray is a neat, well kept cemetery. It is regularly mowed and maintained. It is also easily accessed. There is a cemetery association in charge of maintenance.  The cost of maintaining the cemetery comes largely from donations. There is a map of the cemetery located in the Carbon Agri-Center building in downtown Carbon, Texas.
