The following minutes were copied as written by the clerk of Mt. Olivet Church.
The church was also a one-room school for many of the children in the Dry Fork area of Chilhowie.

 Class met Febuary 27, 1935 . Come together by Son of God every sole by sin oppressed.
Bro….Lowe red 6 chapter of Gals. Preached a spiritual sermon. H. C. Lowe offered a prayer after which the ……… was called for the purpose of organizing a church- which was Bro T G Russell, Bro H C Lowe, Bro W G Henley the council. Examined the Christian character, doctrine and Fellowship of the applicants and found the examination satisfactory.  Then the council proceded as follows.  The bible was presented as the only Rule of Faith and practice . church covenent also articles of Faith. Prayer of com__tion was adopted. Led by Bro. W G Henley the right hand of fellowship was given by the council. The church then
      proceeded to elect its’ officers, Lizzy  Blevins was elected clerk- Bro             Harrington Lowe was Trustee-Bro H.C.(Crage) Lowe as pastor. Then a board of deacons was elected which was Bro H. C. Blevins and Charlie Hart. Then the deacons was examined and found all of them __. The council proceeded to ordain them. Bro T G Russell offered the ordination prayer after which the charge was given by Bro T G Russell and right hand of fellowship was given. A song was sung and benediction by Bro W G Henely.

Our officers which was Trustees for church-Bro Sissero Blevins was appointed chairman. Bro John Wyatt, Bro Harrington Lowe were elected for our Trustees.  Sister Sexton for our treasurer.

 We the Free Will Baptist church of mount olivet.  Bro Miller filled his regular appointment . song___ we no all about it.  Prayer by Bro Man. Bro Miller preached a good spiritual sermon tex and _____might  paul an ______ sang and prayed. Sister dora sexton was taken in church and gave the right hand of fellowship, moved on second  we went into conference. Church was in Fellowship  2 committees were appointed. We went into conference  it was put before the church to elect 2 Trustees. Moved and second  that we elect Bro. John McClure, Bro. Caney sexton and bro. John Wyatt.  Moved and second that we lock the door against anything that wood try to tare down the church  it was moved and second that this conference adjourn.

We the Mt. Olivet Free Will Baptist Church met in conference on Saturday Knight before the fourth Sunday in October 1945. after singing  prayer was offered by Brother Roy Jones  Sermond by the pastor reading a part of Revelation and a part of Corinthians.
1-Called for church to be seated for transaction of business 2-called for fellowship all were in love and union that were present 3- moved and second and a vote of the body that we enter into conference. 4- called for reading of minute of last conference was read and adopted as correct. Works of the church moved and second that we give glen combs $10.00 out of the treasury to help pay his hospital bill and some gave a free offering of $5.50 making $15.50 to glen combs. Moved and second that the treasury read the record of the church finance each month at our monthly conference carried by vote of the body moved and second and vote of the body Elected Sister Reka Powers as church clerk  moved and second to adjourn in usual way by publishing an open door to the church. Three came forward and Joined the church. Sister Martha Fann, Sister Essie Jones joined by application and recommendation and was given right hand of full fellowship having the right and privilges of any other member of the church. Sister Retha Howell joined by experince and baptism was given right hand of welcome and when baptized having the rights and privilges of other members of the church. Benediction

The Christian people of the community met on the fifth Sat. night in Dec 1945 to hold a revival meeting. The Rev. John Buchanan pastor assested by the Rev Lee Howell, Rev James Sexton and Rev Ezekial Walden. Six soles were saved. The church published a open door on Sat. night Jan 13. Bro Clarence Lowe came forward as a canidate for baptism and when baptized having the full right and privilege as any other member. The church extended to Bro Hobart Stamper the right hand of full fellowship having the right and privilege as other member.

Sermon by the Rev John Buchanan reading a passage Revlation 5. 1- call for the vote of the body that we elect Bro Lee Howell for moderator. 2-called for fellowship all were in love and union that was present. 3-moved and second and a vote of the body that we enter in to conference. 4-call for the reading of the minutes was and adopted as correct, work of the church by adding Zek Waldin name to the members. The church extended to Sister Retha Howell and Bro Clarence Lowe the right hand of  full fellowship the conference adjurned in the usual way by publishing an open door. We the Free Will Baptist Church at Mt Olivet met for the purpose of a revival on Sunday Knight Dec 8, 1946. We had a wonderful revival. 13 souls were saved. There were 10 additions to the church. The Lord wonderfully blessed. On dec 13 rev. John Buchanan called the church together and gave an invitation for membership. Mildred Trivitt , ula Trivitt, Gerlian Trivitt, Nella Osborne, Jackoline Osbourne and Dortha Mabe came forth for baptism. The church moved and second and excepted them as candates for baptism. Riley Trivitt and Pearl Hayes was excepted by recommendation. Ethel Mabe was excepted by letter on Dec 14. Mildred Trivitt, Ula Trivitt, Gerline Trivitt Nella Osbourne Jackoline Osbourne and Dortha Mabe were baptized and they all were given the right hand of fellowship and the rights of the church. On Dec 16 Dillard McCoy came forth and was baptized Sunday Dec 22, 1946. he will be given the right hand of fellowship next meeting time and all rights of the church.

We the Mt. Olivet Freewill Baptist Church met in conference and after sermon by pastor the church was called together for the transaction of business. All in fellowship that were present. The reading of the minute of the last conference was read and adopted.  Called for new business moved and second. Charges against 2 bretheren were deferred until next meeting time. $1.50 was collected for light bill $2.00 was payed out of treasure for lights to Emory Powers. Moved and second to adjurn until the next meeting time.

Olivet met in conference for the transaction of business the moderater called for the fellowship of the church all were in fellowship that were present Bro John Rolland was excepted into the church as an ordained deacon by and second and a unanimous vote of the church. Bro Bernard Howell was set a___ by a move and second and vote of the church to be ordain for a deacon.

We the Freewill Baptist Church at Mt. Olivet met in conference for the transaction of business. The invitation for membership was given. Sister Ruby Taylor Sister Shirley Taylor Sister Geneva Wyatt Sister Mildred Wallin Sister Catherine Cruey Sister Rena Long Sister Shirley Henderson Sister Francis Jennings came forth as candidates for baptism and when baptized will be given the right hand of fellowship.
Sister Hellan Sheets came forth and presented her letter from New Bethel having been baptized and is satisfied with the baptism. She was given the right hand of fellowship and all privilidges of the church. Moved and second we adjurn from the conference

Mount Olivet membership became too large for the building. Because of the deed, nothing could be done to add to the building.
A new church was built nearby in 1950 and called Parkers Chapel. Gradually, the members of Mt. Olivet moved to Parkers Chapel Freewill Baptist Church on Dry Fork Road in Chilhowie, Va.
