Submitted by: Victor Smith Deed: Arthur Campbell to Billingsley Roberts, 16 November 1781 This Indenture made on the sixteenth day of November in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty one Between Arthur Campbell of Washington County and State of Virginia of the one part and Billingsley Roberts of Montgomery and State of Maryland. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of three hundred pounds on hand paid hath granted Bargained & sold unto the said Billingsley Roberts one certain Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in Washington County on the north branch of the Holestone River containing three hundred acres being part of that tract of Land willed called Campbells choce Granted to Charles Campbell by Patent bearing date the twenty second day of August one thousand seven hundred and fifty three and devised by him to his Daughter Margaret by his last Will and Testament bearing date the Twenty fourth day of August one thousand seven hundred and sixty one Beginning at two small Hiccory and a fallen red oak on the side of a ridge corner to Thomas Byrdes land south forty Degrees West Ninety four poles to two buckeyes and a Sugar tree by the river at Byrds ford. South three Degrees east one hundred and five poles up the river South thirty degrees east seventy eight poles. East eighty five poles. North fifty two degrees east seventy three poles north sixty east sixty eight poles east forth poles North twenty degrees east twenty two poles North fifteen west twenty poles to two Elms and black beach on the bank of the river North sixty eight degrees west one hundred and thirty four poles to two white oaks on a hill North fifteen degrees west eighty two poles to the patent line on a ridge South seventy four degrees west Eighty eight poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Billingsley Roberts to and his heirs forever.
