Kentland Slave Cemetery
(no markers remain but Virginia Tech has done archaeological work on the area-
The cross on the hill marks the actual cemetery and a memorial marker has been placed at the foot of the hill)

We, the residents of Wake Forest, being
largely descended from the slaves of
Kentland Plantation, whose labor, skill,
blood, sweat and tears, although they were
held in  bondage against their will, brought
Kentland into existence and kept it alive, and
whose memories are still alive on the land.
