Bonnie Jean Rizzo, 77, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family Wednesday evening. She was a member of Melrose Christian Church and Goodwin Memorial Church. She was a talented artist and member of the Roanoke League of Artist for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Rizzo. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Suellen Rizzo of San Antonio, Texas, Michael and June Rizzo of Horton, Kansas, Brian and Dottie Rizzo of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Jennifer, Kristen, Adam, Karmen, Joselyn, and Erin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Dorothy Swain, David and Tabby Swain; two sisters, Lucille Wade and Diane Hill. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2006 at Swain Family Cemetery in Christiansburg with the Rev. George Edwards officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, or call 1-800-227-2345. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oakey's North Chapel, 362-1237. Roanoke Times published with a photo.
