Daniel Forgie Taylor died Friday night at 11:30 o'clock at
the home of his brother, John T. Taylor, 77 Federal street, after
a lingering illness. He was the son of the late John Osborne and
Elizabeth Taylor and was born at Leesville, February 2, 1841.
He was, therefore, in his 77th year at the time of his death.
At the age of 19 years, Mr Taylor, accompanied by his late
brother, O. P. Taylor, of Wellsville, N. Y. went to South America,
where he assisted in the construction of the first railroad there.
Later he went West, making his home at Ajo, Arizona, where he
managed his copper and gold mining interests until his health
failed a year ago, when he returned to Virginia. Hecame here in
March and from that time to his death had made his home with his
only surviving brother, John T. Taylor.
Mr. Taylor never married.
The funeral will be held this morning at 10 o'clock from the
residence of John T. Taylor, 77 Federal street, and the burial
will be at Spring Hill cemetery.
