  Still looking for BARTHOLOMEWs and MALTBYs in Vershire, Orange Co., VT---I'm at a different E-mail address now. Jonathan MALTBY and his wife Lydia BARTHOLOMEW came to Vershire about 1783 from Branford, CT (with stops at Goshen and Lenox). Lydia's brother's Moses and Oliver also moved to Vershire at the same time.

  I am seeking information on Benjamin Batchelder, b 20 Oct 1797 in Vershire, d in Vershire, d 1857 in West Fairlee. He married Sophia Paine in 1821 in Vershire, and the marriage is listed in one of the Paine genealogies. However, Benjamin (whose death certificate lists his father as "Jonathan?") is not listed in the big Batchelder genealogy by Pierce, nor have I have been to find out anything about him other than his birth, death, and marriage dates, and the fact that he appears to have lived all of his life in Orange county. He and Sophia had a daughter, Clarinda Batchelder, who married Sylvester Godfrey of Thetford.

  I'm seeking information on the second wife of Simeon Blanchard, who lived in Corinth, Vermont. His first wife was Cynthia Lietch(?), married in Corinth probably before 1856 (that page was missing in the LDS microfilm of Corinth town records). His second wife was Margaret, prob. married (also Corinth?) after 1871, and before 1878. Census records indicate she was born in England, c. 1845-1847, her parents both born in Ireland. Her tombstone indicates her maiden name was Hanron; this may be an "Americanized" spelling of an Irish name. Can anyone help me

  Looking for info about my gg-grandmother Luella (Duncan) Dimick. Married to George Oliver Dimick and lived in Barnet, VT in 1869 to 1874. These are the years my G-grandfather, George Elmore Dimick, and his brother, Charles Prelate Dimick, were born. The church record that shows the births has Luella's birth place as Waterville, VT. She also married Freeman K. Clement in Barnet, VT in 1884. They settled in Bradford, VT. Would be grateful for any info from Waterville! Thanks a lot!

  I am seeking information on Eleazer Gardner b. Apr 29,1775 in MA married Thankfull Chamberlain Apr 17, 1800 in Thetford. They had at least eight children in Thetford. Eleazer was buried at Stetson Cemetary. I am looking for his date and place of death. Where is Stetson Cemetary - I've been to Thetford but can not find the cemetary. Information on Thankfull is also sought. When and where was she born, who was her father and mother, etc. Any other family information is also of interest. To help avoid confusion, Eleazer and Thankfull also had a son named Eleazer born between 1800 and 1807. Thanks for the help.

  My gggrandfather was Robert Gordon b.between 1765 and 1784 maybe in Chelsea or maybe NH depending on source. He married Polly (Mary) Boryding on May 17, 1801 in Corinth. Children Asa and Charlotte twins b.Dec 11, 1802, John b. July 10, 1803, William b.21 Mar 1805 (my ggrandfather), Mary b. 22 Feb 1807, Esther b. Oct 18, 1808, Rebecah b. Aug 2, 1810, Nancy b. Feb 22, 1813. Robert appears to have died in 1812 or 1813 since no more chjildren. History of Barre where my grandfather John Warren Gordon) was Mayor says Robert died in War of 1812. Need to find confirmation of same. No records of his death in VT. Vital Stats. Mary appears in 1820 census living in Vershire with all children accounted for on census tally sheet. She is still on farm in 1830 then no more record of her. No record of death in vital stats. Will check again on this one. Asa marries and is living in Fairlee in 1830. Esther marries Asa Ingram. William or John stay on farm. Probably John as he appears on1840 census in Vershire. William Married Mary Thurber of St. George, New Brunswick Canada. before 1845.All their children born in Vershire.First child Rhoda A. Gordon born abt 1845, second Robert Truman (or Thurber) Gordon b. abt 1849, third Franklin abt 1852,Abbie abt 1855, John Warren16 Sept 1857. William died 1882 Bolton Vt. My father says they left Vershire after Civil War and settled on farm in Bolton to raise wheat.Mary died July 21, 1895 in Burlington. Robert Truman went by this middle name and was a lawyer in Monpelier. My grandfather John Warren Gordon went to Dartmouth, was lawyer in Montpelier and Barre, state senator from Barre, ran for US Senate, was friend of John Coolidge (Calvins father)and generally a fine upstanding Victorian father and gentleman. He loved cars. He had four sons; Paul killed in WWI, Philip b. 189? died abt 1955, John b. abt 1896 was also Mayor of Barre I think, and my father Norman Seavor Gordon, b.Jan 4, 1899, d. Sept 6, 1980. Need info on Robert - where born etc. and on any of his children. Also were Thurbers originally from Corinth? The Hist. of Barre says her family was from Corinth does not mention Canada - but her death cert says Canada. Thanks. Will share any other info that come my way.

Married 1819 to Harvey LEE who was b. 03 Oct 1798, Guilford, New Haven Co., CT; d. 08 Mar 1877, Farmington, Oakland Co., MI. Place of marriage unknown. Place of birth for Fanny recorded in old family records, but unverified so far by anything official. Would like to hear from anyone doing research on KNIGHT in VT, 18th-19th C. Clearly something amiss with records, since Thetford is in Orange Co. But all existing written references insist on Rutland.

  Seeking information regarding William PETTIE (Pettee,Petty) spelling varies. He and his family are listed in the 1790 Vt census index. Need any info births ,Marriages ,deaths. Think that he may be my wife's g g g g grandfather .Believe he settled in Topsham abt 1788. Hoping that he may be the father or grandfather of John PETTIE who apparently moved to Cambridge,Vt circa 1850. Two of John's sons, William and Jacob, were killed in the Civil war at Port Hudson and a number of family letters for that time have led us this far.The branch that we are following is William's who had four children that were "farmed out" when their mother died abt two years after william's death. the children's names were: Ruth J,(my wife's grandmother) Hannah Ella,George Herbert,and Thaddeus Layfayette PETTIE.   Looking for siblings and parents of the following two people. I have come up to so many stonewalls and other problems with finding more info on these two people that it would surprise anyone.
  Joseph ALLEN later called Jasper b. abt 1802? in VT m. Irene CLIFFORD b. abt 1805 in VT they married April 21, 1824 in Randolph,VT ( I have record) I suspect that Irene was from Corinth but am not possitive. They moved shortly after there marriage to either Coventry,VT or Potton, PQ. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  Looking for ancestors of Lydia Anice, wife of Orramus W.B.Eastman, Corinth,VT., 1783-1862. Lydia and Orramus had eight children. Child #3 was Loton Hosford Eastman. The name Loton is a family name of the Eastman's in Saginaw Michigan, however it is not a family name in the Eastman ancestors prior to Orramus W.B.Eastman. I assume that the name came from Lydia's ancestors. I would greatly appreciate any information regarding Lydia Anice or the name Loton.

  I am looking for information regarding Theophalos HUSE and his wife Polly PERKINS. I don't have any information about their birth/death dates/places yet, but I do know that they had a son Joseph E. HUSE who was b. in Waitsfield, Wahington Co., VT (or possibly Orange, Orange Co., VT) 26 Aug 1831 so they probably resided in that area for at least some period. Joseph E. HUSE married Helen Eliza JACKSON 8 Nov 1853, and he died 21 Jul 1888. Joseph is buried in Morrisville, Lamoille, VT, so I suspect that is where he died.
