Center Cemetery Introduction |
|
Directions & Orientation:
Follow directions for Vermont Technical College. Go South just a few
blocks. Turn left between the White Congregational Church & Red
School House (marked S Randolph RD or Silloway RD. The cemetery is just
a few feet directly behind the red school. The lettering & numbering
starts in the back; corner of where the school is. There are not sufficient words to express gratitude to the Herwigs
who were the driving force behind this project, monitored the students
work and progress, was a ready resource to those seeking information on
their ancestors, even to taking them to the cemetery, showing them the
way. The Project initiated by Wes & Mim Herwig of Randolph Center,
May 7, 1979, approved by the Randolph Historical Society, May 14, 1979.
Names of students who did the actual "field work", is not
apparent. Debra Boles typed the names onto individual sheets. Notes: Where just initials given; what is assumed to be the last name
is entered as such. Where the inscription of the stone has more
than one name and more appropriate to leave as such; cross-referencing
is done. Also where relationships are clearly stated: also some
cross-referencing. |
