SAXTONS RIVER — Myrtle M. Fletcher, 80, died March 25,
2006, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. She was born May 22, 1925, in Bellows Falls, the daughter of William and Laura (Fisher) Nichols. She was a Bellows Falls High School graduate. Mrs. Fletcher worked as a nurse's aide at Rockingham Memorial Hospital and Thompson House in Brattleboro for 25 years. She worked for the Vermont Alliance until May 2005 and was a caregiver to many people. She was a lifetime member of the Grange and a former member of the Grafton Band. She enjoyed band concerts, the beach, camping and the Red Sox. Survivors include two brothers, Raymond Nichols of Southbury, Conn., and William Nichols of Vails Gate, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fletcher was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Fletcher; a daughter, Nancy Frazier; a granddaughter; and a brother, Richard Nichols. There will be no calling hours. The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006, in Saxtons River Cemetery, Saxtons River.
