Saxtons River - Mrs. Nellie Viola Lanou, 72, died early Friday in Springfield following a long illness. Born May 4, 1902 in Templeton, Mass., daughter of Albert and Mary (Pebbles) Howard, she was a long time resident of Charlestown, N.H. Survivors include her husband, George Lanou, whom she married in 1964, a son and daughter by a previous marriage, Donald E. Palmer of Townshend and Mrs. Kenneth Thomas of Weston; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Fred Bussino of Bartonsville and Mrs. Loretta Palmer of Charlestown; 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a nephew and two cousins. Services will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Adams Funeral Home in Chester by the Rev. Jane Buswell. Burial will be at a later date in Saxtons River Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
