Mr. Darrell A. Martin will volunteer his time and offer lookup assistance from the newly published book, "Windsor County, Vermont, Probate Index, 1778-1899". It is the ONLY probate index list published for a Vermont county.  Mr. Martin is also the Mailing List administrator for Windsor County.  Please respect his time. AGAN - Martha Agan - Couture , Labbie, Farrington Agan. Need info on these White River Jct., VT families. AGAN; COUTURE; LABBIE; FARRINGTON. Will share info..
 
BRAGG -Bobby Bothman - I'm looking for information on the Bragg family. I have Alexander Bragg, born 1826 in Vermont, married 1 Nov. 1845 in Newburyport, Mass. to Harriet Burnham. Alexander was the son of Paul and Mary Bragg. The 1810 census for Vermont shows there is an Alexander Bragg in Springfield, Windsor Co., VT. 1 male 16-26 and 1 female female under 10, 1 female 16-26. There is also a Nicholas, Nicholas Jr. and William in that same town.

CAPRON - Karen E. Griffin -  Elisha CAPRON, a Rev. War soldier of Norton, MA, bought a log house and 50 acres of land in 1800 in Chester twp.  Elisha's first wife, Hannah WHITE, died leaving 4 children who had been b. in Norton.  Elisha m. a second time to Abigail ???, and they had 4 more children who were b. in Chester twp. child, Hannah; a dau, Nancy who m. 1813, Springfield, VT, Joel STANLEY of Reading; Elisha, Jr.; Clarissa; Lewis R.; Sylvester; and Sarah. Elisha, Abigail, and at least 5 children were in Springwater, Livingston Co., NY by 1814. Elisha d. 1845. Need info, Abigail CAPRON's maiden name.

CLAFIN - Denise Perkins Ready, CLAFLIN, Ephraim b.Oct.27,1751 at Sutton,MA. Came to Woodstock, Windsor Co.,VT prior to 1790. He is listed on the 1790 Census at Woodstock,VT. He m.Susanna Newton, and second, Polly Watkins.  TIMOTHY CLAFIN and EPHRAIM CLAFIN. Need info on the children. I seek, MARTHA CLAFIN/CLAFFIN b.ca.1760-65 m. WILLIAM PERKINS. He possibly being the WILLIAM PERKINS of Pomfret,Windsor Co.,VT 1790. Noted that his wife was Martha "Patty" (?), was told that there was two others in VT with this surname, JAMES and DANIEL lived in Hancock,VT 1790.

CUMMINGS -Tom Gull - Have information to share on family of Amos Cummings and Elizabeth Wright. Trying to determine if Sarah B. Cummings who md. James Porter Dake in Windsor ca. 1812 is a daughter of the above. Also looking for ancestry of Elizabeth Wright.

DALEY - Richard G. Smith - Daley, Betsy Derby Daley was born 19 Aug 1819 in Ludlow, Windsor County, VT, dau of Amos Daley and Polly (?), married Lorenzo Smith 2 Jun 1840 in Ashburnham, MA. Amos and Polly both b. Fitchburg, MA. No further info about family. Need info.

DARLING - Katherine Paty patytk@uswest.net  Seeking info about the parentage of Thomas DARLING, said to be a native of Windsor Co., born there Jan. 19, 1791. Believed have been a vet of War of 1812. 
 
DUNSMORE - Katherine Paty  Seeking info about the DUNSMORE family that lived in Windsor town, I believe, about 1800. I do not have father's given name; mother was Theresa Lucinda. They had 3 sons:Hosea, George and Ellis.

Lydia Sackett. Henry Green Edwards b. 19 Feb 1783. Windsor, Windsor, Vt. Md. Sally ?, and 1 more Susannah Edwards b. 29 Mar 1789, Windsor, Windsor, Vt. died 19 Aug 1789. Sally Edwards b. abt 1792. FARRINGTON -Suzette Thompson - Looking for FARRINGTON family in Windsor Co., Vermont abt. the years 1785 to 1830. They married into the TWITCHELL family. Thanks for any help you can offer.
 
FOSTER - Gerrie Foster  Seeking info, Jonathan FOSTER b. abt. 1765, in Mass.  1800 census in Plymouth, Windsor Co, Vt. Census lists  family of 9 (7 children). I also found 4 more births after 1800. William (1800) Luther (1801) Lynda (1803) and Allis (1805). Luther's death certificate has mother's name as Sarah. Sarah living with daughter Rebecca Foster Fay in 1850, also in Plymouth. Brother Luther (d.1865) and Rebecca (d.1862) are buried at Plymouth 5 corners cemetery, but I have no trace of Jonathan and Sarah. Need Help. William who married Sylvia Hosley is my direct line. 

GILES -Pete Velsko - Seeking info on GILES family from Chester area. c. 1770-1820. Believe Giles family are somehow related to STEVENS family. Some of Stevens family migrated to NY abt 1820 and then to Illinois in 1840s. Only mention of Giles is in family Bible. Appreciate any info.

HUMPHREY - Jacqueline Forrestal - Seeking info on Mr. and Mrs. Henry HUMPHREY from Norwich, VT as well as George HUMPHREY from Barre, VT. Living there in 1948. I would appreciate any and all help. 

LULL -Barbara Lein - Looking for Charles Curtis Lull who was born in Vermont (possibly Windsor County)  26 July 1816. Montpelier has no birth record. Charles Curtis Lull moved to Tioga County, NY before 7 Sep 1843 when he married Charlotte Hitchcock in Berkshire, NY. He died 16 March 1870 in Tioga Co., NY. Death certificates are not available fort time period.  Looking his parents and siblings. 

MARCY - Lynnea Dickinson - WILLARD MARCY JAQUITH DOOLITTLE  Seeking parents of Olive MARCY who married Wilder WILLARD 10 Jan 1782 in Hartland, Windsor Co., VT. Wilder WILLARD was the son of Oliver and Thankful (DOOLITTLE) WILLARD. Wilder and Olive had a daughter, Lucy (b. 12 Jan 1783 in Hartland) who married Josiah JAQUITH, Sr. 29 Dec 1802 in Hartland. Would appreciate any information on descendents of Josiah and Lucy (WILLARD) JAQUITH.
 
MORSE- WILLIAMS Bob Morse - Need infor Nancy MORSE b.3/12/1827, d.2/9/1888, bur. Gilead cem., Bethel, VT. marr. 10/June 1849 at Randolph, VT. Leonard K. Williams, b. 28 May 1825, d. 15 Sept. 1894 also bur. Gilead cem., Bethel, VT. Need parents for Nancy and any siblings info.

NEWTON - Ruth Descoteaux - Seek info Sam (or Lewis) Newton b. 11 Jul 1806 in Reading or Bridgewater & married Mary Ann Bryant b. 1817 in Hartland.  Parents of Clara May Newton b. 16 Sep 1852.
  
PARKER - Shirley Arendt - Seek information  Loren PARKER born ca. 1818. He married Mary THURSTON. Children were Franklin Elihue b. 1842, Lucian b. 1844, William b. 1848, Edward b. 1849, Augustus b. 1854, Susan b. ca. 1855, Fredrick b. 1863 and Hiram. Family was found in Norwich, Windsor Co., VT. 

POWERS - Carole A. Lange - Looking for parents and family information about James Powers and Anna Phelps who were married in Woodstock, Winsdor, VT 2-24-1814. They had at least two sons, William b. 6-11-1815 and Winslow Phelps Powers b. 4-8-1821 in Woodstock. William died before reaching adulthood. The family left VT in the 1820s and lived in IL.

PRATT - Dolores Pratt Davidson - Searching for ANY information on BENJAMIN PRATT born about 1769, married Mehitable EMERSON,1792,d 1803 in Woodstock, Windsor VT, and second wife MRS DEBORAH SPOONER about Dec 1804. Any info on Kendall Cemetary, & Parents, siblings,  welcomed. 

PUTNAM - Pamela Michie - Seek info on Jonas A. Putnam. Born 1823, West Windsor Vermont. Married  Mary J.(Rowe) Putnam. Served in Civil War 1865-66 11th Vermont Regiment. Died 1891, Reading Vermont. Listed in 1850 US Census as farmer. 10 Children born to Jonas A. and Mary Putnam. Critical info :Parents of Jonas A. SAVAGE - Karen Kunz, Seeking information on Truman SAVAGE. Census shows he was born in NH around 1810 but was married to Cynthia TENNEY on 12 July 1834 in Hartford, Windsor, VT. Children's names were John Whitmore SAVAGE, Jasper H. SAVAGE and Lucy Maria SAVAGE. The 1883 business directory shows Jasper H. SAVAGE and Jane SAVAGE widow of Truman. I am interested in obtaining cemetery records for Truman and his family (Jasper was buried in the Christian Street Cemetery) and in discovering the connection to Thomas SAVAGE (b.1714) and his wife Martha WHITMORE.

SMITH - Richard G. Smith - Seeking any info on Joseph SMITH  b. 5 Jun 1785 at Cavendish Twp., Windsor, VT, son of Moses SMITH and Lucy (?). Is he same Joseph SMITH who married Louise MARBLE 21 Apr 1812, Ashburnham MA residing Leominster, MA? Died 21 Jun 1834? Joseph and Louisa had Lorenzo, Elvira, George, Alpha and Elbridge. 

STEVENS - Peter Velsko  Seek info on William STEVENS family, c. late 1700s, early 1800s from Chester, Windsor Co., Vt. William was m. to Lucy RICE. Know of on child, Roxanna Stiles STEVENS, b. 8 Aug. 1804, in Chester.

STONE -Tom Gull  Interested in finding parents of Amanda Stone b. ca. 1804 Vt. and probable brother Joel, born a few years earlier. Both people in Camden / Vienna, Oneida Co., NY by 1825. Joel Stone md. Dinah Starkweather, prob. dau. Of Amos. Amanda Stone md. Benjamin Howd. There were two or three families with Joel Stones in the Windsor area, and the family histories stop one generation before what would be useful to me. WARREN -Chuck Nettleship (originally from Woodstock, VT) E-mail CFNfour@aol.com  Zenas and Susannah (Weston) Warren are Mayflower descendants from Middleboro, MA and settled in Hartland/Windsor, VT between 1783 and 1789. I am looking for some proof that they had a daughter, Susannah about 1785. She married Samuel Severance of Windsor, son of Ebenezar Severance of Temple, NH in 1807.  
 
WASHBURN/PERKINS - Yvette Reckert -  Need info on Seth WASHBURN b. 1772 Woodstock, d. 17 Jan 1845 Woodstock m. ? Hannah Perkins b. 1784 VT, d. 24 Mar 1881 Woodstock. Any info on Hannah's family would be also appreciated.
 
WHITCOMB - Michael VanBaaren - PARMENTER: John WHITCOMB b 1761 Hardwick, Mass., res. Barnard, Vermont; md Lydia Hayden PARMENTER, 1788 in Stockbridge. She was b c1768 in either Stockbridge, or Oakham, Mass., dau. of Isaiah & Lydia (HAYDEN) PARMENTER. John was son of Asa & Joanna (RAYMOND) WHITCOMB. John and Lydia moved to Ohio c1800 and to Indiana c1826. Would like to correspond with researchers for Windsor Co. WHITCOMB's or PARMENTER's.

WHITNEY - Colleen Knights - Capt. Benjamin WHITNEY of Westminster. Benjamin was a son of John WHITNEY from New Hampshire according to a family bible. Also that he was a town officer of Westminster, one of the fence viewers, and also the official Horse Brander.Benjamin d. 20 Nov 1822, Westminster, VT m. Jerusha BROCKWAY Cheshire Co, NH. 

WINSLOW - Linda Chickering lchickering@jvlnet.com 'm looking for information on William WINSLOW, born about 1767-1777. Hemarried Lydia GEER 5-7-1795 in Norwich, and was recorded on the 1800 census as living in Sharon.
