ELISHA HITCHCOCK

 

ELISHA8 HITCHCOCK  (JOSEPH7, NATHANIEL6, DEACON JOHN5, LUKE4, JOHN3 HISCOCKES, RICHARD2, HENRIE1), son of Joseph and Mary (Burt) Hitchcock, was born 20 Jan 1753 in Brimfield, MA, and died 12 Sep 1839 in Westminster, VT

        He married URSULA HITCHCOCK 27 Nov 1776 in Springfield, MA.  She was born 27 Apr 1758 in Brimfield, MA, and died 23 Feb 1834 in Westminster, VT.  Ursula was the daughter of Josiah and Martha (Hitchcock) Hitchcock.

 

Elisha Hitchcock came to Westminster from Springfield, MA, about 1776, and settled in the northwest part of town and resided there until his death.

AMOS HITCHCOCK

 

AMOS9 HITCHCOCK  (ELISHA8, JOSEPH7, NATHANIEL6, DEACON JOHN5, LUKE4, JOHN3 HISCOCKES, RICHARD2, HENRIE1), the son of Elisha and Ursula (Hitchcock) Hitchcock, was born 27 Apr 1784 in Westminster, VT, and died 24 Feb 1878 in Westminster, VT. 

        He married ACHSAH HENDEE 07 Nov 1807.  She was born 13 Feb 1787, and died 02 Feb 1852 in Westminster, VT.

 

Amos Hitchcock was born in Westminster, VT and  lived in Westfield, VT for a short time, then returned to Westminster.

WILLIAM H10 HITCHCOCK  (AMOS9, ELISHA8, JOSEPH7, NATHANIEL6, DEACON JOHN5, LUKE4, JOHN3 HISCOCKES, RICHARD2, HENRIE1), the son of Amos and Achsah (Hendee) Hitchcock, was born 27 Apr 1812 in Westminster, VT, and died 23 May 1890 in Westminster, VT. 

        He married SILANCE ADAMS HARRINGTON 12 Nov 1839 in Jamaica. VT.  She was born 05 Sep 1817, and died 30 Jul 1895 in Westminster, VT.

JOHN RICE HITCHCOCK

 

JOHN RICE11 HITCHCOCK, the son of William H. and Silence Adams (Harrington) Hitchcock, was born 14 Jun 1856 in Westminster, VT and died 18 Jul 1927, Westminster, VT.

            He married EMMA FRANCES BOUTELLE, 31 Aug 1882, Midway, MA; b. 11 Jul 1865, Dedham, MA; d. 23 Mar 1943, Saxtons River, VT.

 

Children  of JOHN R. HITCHCOCK and EMMA F. BOUTELLE are:

 

                   i.     Charles N.12 Hitchcock was born 1883 in Westminster VT.   Charles married Caroline Wellman and they lived about a mile east of Westminster West village in the little red house on the north side of the road, just down the hill from the McCoy farm. No Children.

 

                  ii.     Ira A. Hitchcock, b-1885, the son of John Rice Hitchcock and Emma Boutelle, was born 1885 in Westminster VT. Ira married Florence Thompson and they lived in New Hampshire. They had four children.

 

                          Charles and his brother, Ira, spent their early years in Westminster and both were on the Westminster Athletic Club basketball team in 1907.

HELI HITCHCOCK

 

HELI8 HITCHCOCK  (JOSEPH7, NATHANIEL6, DEACON JOHN5, LUKE4, JOHN3 HISCOCKES, RICHARD2, HENRIE1), son of Joseph and Mary (Burt) Hitchcock, was born 08 Mar 1756 in Brimfield, MA, and died 26 May 1818 in Westminster, VT. 

        He married TRYPHENA GOODELL About 1785. 

 

Heli Hitchcock came to Westminster in 1785 from Brimfield, MA. As a soldier, Heli served under Capt Thompson in 1776 and Capt Walker in 1775. He was a Minuteman under Capt Thompson from Brimfield, MA for 16 days dating from 19 Apr 1777. He afterwards enlisted and served in the regular Army under Capt Toogood in 1777, and Capt Haywood in 1780. He was at the surrender of Burgoyne, also the battle of Trenton, NJ and was in command at Fishkill, NY.

AARON HITCHCOCK

 

AARON8 HITCHCOCK  (JOSEPH7, NATHANIEL6, DEACON JOHN5, LUKE4, JOHN3 HISCOCKES, RICHARD2, HENRIE1), son of Joseph and Mary (Burt) Hitchcock, was born 22 Jun 1759 in Brimfield, MA, and died 12 Mar 1827 in Westminster, VT.

        He married MARY STEBBINS 26 Jan 1786.  She was born 06 Feb 1763.

 

Aaron Hitchcock came to Westminster about 1790 from Brimfield, MA He was a soldier, Sergeant under Capt King at Saratoga, NY in 1780 and a Sergeant in the Continental War under Capt Haywood.

ZADOC HITCHCOCK

 

ZADOC8 HITCHCOCK  (JOSEPH7, NATHANIEL6, DEACON JOHN5, LUKE4, JOHN3 HISCOCKES, RICHARD2, HENRIE1), son of Joseph and Mary (Burt) Hitchcock, was born 26 Aug 1767 in Brimfield, MA, and died 01 Apr 1852 in Westminster, Windham, VT.

        He married BEULAH STEARNS 30 Sep 1794.  She was born in Rockingham, VT, and died 08 Jan 1840 in Westminster, Windham, VT.

 

Zadoc Hitchcock came to Westminster about 1794 from Brimfield, MA. He was a soldier in Shay’s Rebellion under Capt Joseph Hoar. He was one of the early settlers of Westminster, VT and a farmer. He also carried the mail for many years between Westminster and Saxtons River, VT

ELDAD HITCHCOCK

 

ELDAD8 HITCHCOCK  (MOSES7, NATHANIEL6, DEACON JOHN5, LUKE4, JOHN3 HISCOCKES, RICHARD2, HENRIE1), the son of Moses and Bethia (Younglove) Hitchcock, was born 20 Jan 1757 in Brimfield, MA, and died 08 Jul 1806 in Westminster, VT. 

        He married ESTHER HOAR 26 Dec 1777.  She died 05 Oct 1823 in Westminster, VT.

 

Eldad Hitchcock came to Westminster sometime before 1800 from Brimfield, MA.He received from the town of Brimfield 10 lbs sterling for army service. He was also on the muster roll of Capt S. Walkers Regt on 15 Jun 1775.
