ROBERT RAND
ROBERT RAND [parents unknown] born about 1750 [prob. in Mass.] and died 1828; buried W. Rutland VT. According to Susan S. Boitz, Robert Rand was supposed to have had six brothers.
He married EMMA AVERILL/AVERY ("Emmie" & "Amy"). Emma5, the daughter of John4 (John3, William2, William1) and Mary (Phippen) Averill, was born in 1758 (AFG). [One Amy Averill was born in 1757 at Topsfield MA and was baptized in Christ Church, Topsfield on 21 May 1757].
Rand is said to have been a tailor. The Rands may have lived in Charlestown NH before moving to Westminster VT. From Westminster, they removed to Northfield VT. Revolutionary War Service: Sgt VT, Capt. Seelye's Co, 1781. DAR #544449, Verna Rebers Rand. Robert Rand was listed in the 1791 Census of Westminster, Windham Co., VT (2-2-6-0-0).
