I recognize nine of the children pictured in the photo--all from the DASCHBACH and BLESSING families. These were children who arrived to Spokane with their parents and siblings from Minnesota in two groups--in 1883 and in 1888. Elisabeth (Lizzie) DASCHBACH (pictured in the photo) was the second child of Frank and Mary (Ranweiler) DASCHBACH. She married, in 1900, Emil HORN. Edward (Eddie) DASCHBACH was her younger brother. Many of the DASCHBACH men were involved in the railroad jobs. They were ethnically German, (their parents, who accompanied them, were French nationals, from Alsace).
