Dorchester, A. F. F. Jensen General Mdse. Store (1888)

This General Merchandise Store was owned by A. F. F. Jensen who came to the USA in 1851 from Denmark. It was torn down when the Dorchester Cheese Co. was built in its place. The business was lost because too much credit was given, but later revived when Mrs. Jensen received money from her mother.

I was so happy to come upon this picture when searching A.F.F. JENSEN-he was my Great Grandfather. His son Roy was my Grandfather.

I have been searching the Civil War and the Iron Brigade-Antietam, Fredericksburg, Rappahannock, and Bull Run also. It has all been so interesting.

It was wonderful to find this page on the web, especially the picture. If anyone has further articles or pictures, i hope that they will e-mail them to me. Again, thank you.
