Smith, Joseph ( - 15 Dec 1901)
Joseph Smith, familiarly known in the neighborhood as "Uncle Joe" died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1901, at David Wood's residence in Pine Valley, Clark County. For some time he had done chores and light work and made his home at Mr. Wood's. In the evening he went out to get some kindling and was found shortly after in a helpless condition at the wood pile. He lived but a few minutes. The funeral was held Saturday, Rev. G.W. Longenecker officiating.
