Shaver, Aaron (1821 - 4 Apr 1903)

Aaron Shaver died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. Kemery, Saturday morning April 4, 1903. Deceased was born in Canada in 1821. He was married to Maria Daniels in 1851; to them were born a son and a daughter. The later, Mrs. Kemery and her two children, Mrs. Chas. Tourville and Harold Kemery are the only family survivors. He moved to New York in 1854. In 1862 he enlisted in the 106 N.Y. Infantry and was discharge as Corporal in 1865 on account of sickness. He moved to Wisconsin in 1866 and came to Neillsville, Clark County in 1867. After the death of his wife in 1877 he has made his home with his daughter. For forty years he was a consistent member of the M.E. Church and lived a quiet Christian life. The funeral was held at the house Monday, Rev. Guy Campbell officiating. The G.A. R., W.R.C., a detachment of Spanish war veterans and a firing squad from Co. A. attended the funeral and accompanied the remains to the cemetery.
