Wildish, Roland (14 OCT 1877 - 1 May 1903)

Friday morning May 1, 1903, Roland Wildish died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Wildish in the town of Pine Valley, Clark County. A few weeks ago he was taken with a severe attack of inflammatory rheumatism which later became complicated and led to the fatal result. Roland was born Oct. 14, 1877 and was brought up on his father's farm until he reached manhood, when he entered the shop of A. Barton and worked for four years at the blacksmith trade. He was a competent and faithful workman and trusted by Mr. Barton in every way, making his home through the week at his employer's house, where he was cared for during the first of his sickness. He was a general favorite among the young people of his age, who will miss him greatly, and still more will he be missed in his home where he went each Sunday to spend the day with his parents. The sympathy of the community was fittingly shown by the people for miles around who gathered Sunday afternoon at the funeral. Services were held at the house, Rev. Guy Campbell officiating, burial taking place in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Wildish and family wish to thank all who gave help and sympathy, and express their appreciation of the kindness shown by friends far and near.
