Butler, Margaret (26 NOV 1866 - 8 Sep 1903)

Mrs. W.H. Butler died at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, Sept. 8, 1903, of diabetes. She had been a sufferer for some months, ubt no danger was expected until within the last few days, when she grew suddenly worse.

Margaret Dunigan Butler was born in Phelps, N.Y., Nov. 26, 1866, and came west with her parents who settled at Random Lake, Sheboygan County, Wis., in 1870, where she grew to womanhood. In 1884 they moved to Dunn County, where Miss Dunigan was married June 3, 1884, to W.H. Butler, also of Random Lake. They settled in Granton, Clark County, where Mr. Butler carried on a mercantile business for several years. They moved to Menomonie last May. Mrs. Butler was a direct descendant of Lord McDonald who held with distinction a seat in the British Parliament. She was a loving wife, respected by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her loss a sad husband and one sister, Miss Kathryn Dunigan of this city.

The funeral was held at St. Joseph's Church, conducted by Father Volz. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Butler was a resident of Clark County for many years and made many warm friends who will regret to hear of her demise.
