Marx, Peter (3 Jan 1856 - 16 Jan 1904)
A telegram was received by relatives here that Peter Marx died at his home at West Branch, Mich., Saturday, Jan. 16, 1904, from cancer of the stomach. He had been ailing for some time and had undergone an operation at the hospital at Saginaw.
Deceased was 48 years of age on the 3rd of January. He was born in Germany, but for nearly 25 years had resided in and near Neillsville, Clark County. He was a very competent business man, well liked by all and having a wide circle of friends. He leaves a wife and an adopted child, besides two brothers, John who resides in Neillsville, Matthew in the town of Grant, Mrs. Susie Barnhofen, a sister living here and Mrs. Margaret Daubrava living at West Bend, Wis. His brother John left immediately for West Branch, Mich, on receipt of the news.
The remains arrived in Neillsville Wednesday morning, accompanied by the relatives and the funeral will be held this forenoon at the Catholic Church.
