McIntire, Genevieve L. (16 Jan 1881 - 29 OCT 1904)

Mrs. Genevieve Lowe McIntire died in Chicago, Saturday Oct. 29, 1904, where she had been taken for a surgical operation. Genevieve was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lowe and was born in Neillsville, Clark County, Jan. 16, 1881. Her life was spent here, and among those who mourn most sincerely her early death are the young people who have known her in school and as a childhood playmate. She possessed a sincere and positive character, was gentle and kind, and especially thoughtful of the poor and needy. For some years past she was handicapped by poor health, but bore her sufferings with patience and cheerfulness. As a last hope for restoring her health she was taken to Chicago for a surgical operation. She rallied from this and for a few days hopes were revived but her strength did not come back.

Nearly three years ago, Nov. 12, 1901, she was married to Ernest McIntire. The young couple remained at the home of her parents and so the close relationship of father, mother and daughter remained unsevered, and thus her death brings a keener sense of sorrow to the home. The funeral was held at the house Tuesday afternoon, Rev. G.W. Longenecker officiating. The large gathering of friends testified to the esteem in which she was held and to the sympathy for the bereaved young husband and grief stricken mother and father.
