Starrett, Louisa (12 OCT 1840 - 29 Apr 1907)

Mrs. Louisa Starrett, wife of Chas. Starrett, died at her home in Neillsville, Clark County, April 29, 1907, after a long illness. Her death was due to cancer of the stomach. Mrs. Starrett, whose maiden name was Louisa Buchanan, was born in the state of Ohio, Muskingdum Co., Oct. 12, 1840.

She was married to Chas. Starrett July 2, 1863 and moved to Viroqua, Vernon Co., Wis. in 1867. Five years ago they moved to Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis. To them were born four children, two boys and two girls: I.R. Starrett and Mrs. C.E. Smith of La Farge, and Mrs. L.O. Spunangle and J.F. Starrett of Neillsville. She joined the United Brethren Church fourteen years ago, to which she still belonged at the time of her death.

Medical treatment and the kind and constant care of her husband and children did much to alleviate her, but could not stay the disease.

The funeral took place at La Farge, Vernon Co., conducted by the Pastor of the M.E. Church.
