AIR MAIL WEEK WILL ADVERTISE GREENWOOD (March 1938)

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the inauguration of air mail service by the U.S. Post Office department, the week of May 15th to 21st has been designated as National Air Mail Week.

The observance has the objective in view of acquainting the citizens of the nation with the use of air mail and its progress, dependability, safety and value. A wider knowledge of the advantage of air mail to the general public will increase the use of the service and thus make possible a faster expansion of this valuable branch of the postal service.

The Greenwood Post Office together with all of the other post offices of the nation has its share in participating in this country-wide observance. For this one week, all air mail May be stamped with a cachet, which is significant to and expressive of the community served by the various post offices.

Send an air mail letter with the Greenwood Cachet during air mail week.
