My GGF was a civil war veteran. However, he moved to Loyal about 1900 - died in 1930. I don't know if this information is useful to you or not. His name was Carl Pieper, born 6 April 1846 and died 11 July 1930.

The Loyal G.A.R. post was formed on August 5th, 1887. J.H. Welch was the first commander. I need the names of the original charter members. Any help???
