Braman, Nancy (22 Mar 1845 - 26 Oct 1913)

Mrs. Amos Braman died at her home near Dells Dam, Clark County, Sunday, Oct. 26, 1913, after a long illness.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Nancy Fish, was born in St. Lawrence Co., N.Y., March 22, 1845. At the age of 11 years she came with her family to Kalamazoo, Mich., where she grew to womanhood. There she was married to Amos Braman in 1862. They continued to live at Kalamazoo for four years and then moved to Clark County and made their home on the farm where they have lived ever since.

Eight children were born to them, three of who are dead. Those living are: George of Montrose, Col., Mrs. Loretta Martin and Mrs. Mary Bacon of Crawford Co., Mrs. Addie Horton of Dells Dam and one son Pearl at home.

Mrs. Braman joined the Christian Church in 1871, and remained a member of that organization till coming to Clark County. In 1894 she united with the Presbyterian Church and remained a member till her death. She was a woman of high Christian character, a good wife and mother and a kind neighbor. During her long sickness she has suffered much and bore with patience her burden of pain. All that human hands could do for her was done by husband, children and friends, and this she fully appreciated.

The funeral took place Wednesday forenoon at the Dells Dam Church, Rev. Geo. Foster officiating. The music was furnished by Mrs. McAdams.

The family unites in expressing their sincere appreciation of help and sympathy given them by neighbors and friends. They wish to thank all who have been of so great a service to them in many ways.
