Miller, John (8 Oct 1854 - 13 Apr 1914)

John Miller, a prominent farmer of Pine Valley, Clark County, died at the Marshfield Hospital Monday, where he had been taken Saturday for treatment.

A week previous he received a slight cut or scratch on his finger from a tin pail while feeding his horses. Blood poisoning set in, which did not yield to local treatment and he was taken to the hospital, but to no avail.

Deceased was born at New Berlin, Wis., Oct. 8, 1854. He grew to manhood there and was married to Miss Mary Lauer about 35 years ago. They moved to Sullivan, later to Whitewater and some years ago came to Neillsville and bought the Dave Williams farm in Pine Valley. Mr. Miller was a most excellent citizen and neighbor, accommodating and helpful in every way. He was a man of high Christian character, trying to live up to the tenets of his faith.

He leaves besides his wife, ten children: John in Milwaukee; Joseph in St. Paul; Mrs. B. Gehrman of Hudson; Mrs. Guy Sperbeck of Oshkosh; Frank, Ben, Albert, Angeline and Alice at home, and Agnes if St. Rose Convent in La Crosse.

The funeral took place this (Thursday) forenoon at the Catholic Church.
