Brule, Philomena Loyer (5 Dec. 1843 - 21 May 1922)

Mrs. Joseph Brule died at her home in this city Sunday night, may 21, after a lingering illness. Philomena Loyer Brule was born at Ottawa, Canada, Dec. 5, 1843. She grew to womanhood there and on April 29, 1861, was married to Eustache (Joseph) Brule. For many years they have resided in Neillsville. Mr. Brule passed away several years ago. Mrs. Brule was a woman of many excellent qualities, devoted to her family and home. Her life was one of labor and sacrifice for good of those about her; and faithfully and well she did her part.

Of the 14 children born to her, seven survive: Thomas, who lives at home; Mrs. Genevera Le Roy of Antigo; George, now in Neillsville after many years of army services; Mrs. Anna Motz of Minneapolis; Mrs. Helen Torrey of St. Paul, Frederick of Neillsville, and Archibald of Portland, Oregon.

The funeral was held Wednesday forenoon at St. Mary’s Catholic church.
