Graves, Martha (20 Jan. 1860 - 22 Oct. 1922)

The friends of Mrs. Graves were shocked to hear of her sudden death Sunday, afternoon, Oct. 22. Death followed a stroke of paralysis, which came on Saturday evening soon after deceased he retired apparently in the best of health. She was born in Fond du Lac, Wis., Jan. 20, 1860, was married to Walter Graves Jan. 14, 1908 and came to the home farm at Granter where they sent eleven years together. Since the death of Mr. Graves, she has made her home with her niece, Mrs. W. H. Rowe, and family. Besides the home family, she leaves one brother, Will Gibson, one sister, Mrs. Emma Root, and many nieces and nephews to mourn her loss. She will be greatly missed in the home, community and church, where she was a faithful member.

The funeral was held at York Center church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Chatterson of Loyal officiating.
