Button, Mrs. Frances Hogg (Marriage - 1 Jan. 1923)

Mr. Frank E. Brown and Mrs. Frances Hogg Button were quietly married Monday, January 1, 1923, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Hogg in Melrose, Jackson County, Rev. Evjen officiating. They were attended by Mr. Tom J. Hogg, brother of the bride and Miss Blanche Griffin. The wedding was a home affair, only relatives and close friends being in attendance. The groom is one of Neillsville’s most active young business men. He grew up here, was educated in Neillsville Schools, later taking a course in jewelry and watch-making and went into business here. He served in the army during the war and was over seas for some time. On his return he resumed his jewelry business, forming a partnership with his cousin, H. L. Brown. He takes an active part not only in the business affairs of the community, but is also prominent in social and fraternal activities. He is a young man of fine character and high ideals and is deservedly popular in Neillsville and country around. The bride is the city librarian, a position she has filled with the greatest satisfaction. She also has charge of the library work in Neillsville high school where here work is equally satisfactory. Her preparation in College and Library School at Madison and experience in various libraries have well fitted here for the work she is doing here. In a social way she has won many friends among the people of this city and vicinity, who will gladly welcome her as a permanent resident among them.

The bride and groom returned Monday night from Melrose and began housekeeping at once in the beautiful new residence built the past year by the groom, and which they have all equipped and furnished fro their home. All who know them will wish them the highest happiness.
