Dear Folks;

I suppose you have been wondering what happened. Well I am O.K. It's been about a month that I have been able to send or receive any mail.

We crossed a large body of water and reached our destination safely. I got sea sick, but it didn't last long. We had our first mail call today. I didn't get any but I know I have some on the way.

The boys here ask us about U.S.A. Later-I got your V-mail letter today dad. Sure glad to hear from you. I also got the Gleaner. The first one since I left Port Pierce.

I suppose you've been fishing. I could go for some northern pike.

Also got a letter from Lorraine with clippings of Dick Bong. Some guy. Can't tell what will come out of Northern Wisconsin, guess.

The beer is very bitter. Most of the places are open only a few hours or sold out.

Most everything is bombed to pieces here. The signs on the churches say their will be services here if weather permits.

This is about all I am allowed to write. Write often.

Love

A.W. Vollrath S 1-c Amphibious Forces
