Robert Hodd, 86, died on Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Deerview Meadows, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., on Monday, April 28, at First Presbyterian Church, Abbotsford. The Rev. Keith Jones officiated. Burial was in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lucas Northway, Wayne Johnson, Jerry Rabehl, Allen Leu, Bob Morrow and Butch Hargraves. Honorary pallbearer was Bobby Kieffer.

Robert Hodd was born on Nov. 10, 1916 in Stanley, to Fred and Elizabeth [nee Taylor] Hodd. He married Cecil Bogue on June 30, 1940, in Withee. He farmed in the town of Hoard until 1948. He opened the Abby Theater in 1949, and built the 13-29 Drivein Theatre between Abbotsford and Colby in 1969. He operated both theatres until selling them to his son, Dave, in 1982. He also worked as a brick layer for Uhlig Construction. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Abbotsford. His interests included time at his cabin on Butternut Lake, hunting, fishing and the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his wife, Cecil, Colby; four children, June [Gerald] Johnson, Medford, Carol [Alvin] Rabehl, Marshfield, Janet [Tom] Kieffer, Loyal, and David [Kim Dunlavy] Hodd, Colby; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Bogue, Watseka, Ill., and Ethel [Harris] Johnson, Curtiss.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Jerry, in 1969, and Robert Jr., in 1952; four brothers, Roy, Fred, Floyd and Ervine; and two sisters, Etta and Myrtle.

Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, assisted the family with arrangements.
