Dietrich, Augusta (6 Aug. 1869 - 19 Dec. 1925)

Mrs. John Dietrich passed away at her home in the town of Grant, Saturday evening, Dec. 19, 1925, after a lingering illness.

She was born August. 6, 1869 at Kewaskum, Washington Co., Wis. She came to the town of Grant in her infancy with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Strey. Here she grew to womanhood, loved and respected by all who knew her.

June 3, 1891 she was married by Rev. Toerne to John Dietrich and together they made their home on the old Dietrich homestead on Highway 18. It was indeed a pleasant journey through life for the 34 and more years. This union was blessed with nine children. One died in infancy and one son, Bennie, gave his life for his country in the late war.

Mrs. Dietrich was a life long - long member of the Lutheran Faith. She was baptized in the Lutheran church at Kewaskum in infancy, by Rev. A. Grossberger. Instructed in the Lutheran faith at Granton and confirmed June 1, 1884 by Rev. Lange.

Hosts of friends who knew and loved her for her fine Christian character sympathize with the bereft in their sorrow.

She is a good and kind wife and mother, ever thoughtful and sympathetic for those about her. Her whole life was spent in making people happy and working for her Savior.
