Beecher, Rolla (15 AUG 1854 - 30 NOV 1927)

Rolla Beecher, one of the old residents of Granton, Clark County, Wis., passed away at his home in that village on Wednesday, after a lingering illness. Mr. Beecher was born at Fort Jackson, N.Y., Aug. 15, 1854. He came west in 1873. After he first came to Clark County he worked in lumber camps and on farms.

In 1875 he was married to Miss Ida Allen, who survives. He followed farming for a good many years, and was a rural mail carrier for 12 years. He was a man of most likable qualities, kin hearted and generous, a good neighbor and a kind husband and father.

He leaves his wife, one son, Wella Beecher of Janesville, one daughter, Miss Lula Beecher, at home, and an adopted son, Donald, who is in the navy. One daughter, blanche, Mrs. Adolph Leach, is deceased. He leaves also four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The funeral was held Friday, Rev. Wilson Mallory officiating, burial taking place in the Windfall Cemetery.
