Green, Anson (7 Feb. 1858 - 24 Jan. 1926)

Anson Green of Stanley, Wisconsin, died at his home on Sunday evening at 7:20, January 24th, death being caused by pneumonia combined with pernicious anemia.

Mr. Green was born in Neillsville on Feb. 7th, 1858, where he spent his early boyhood. He was a graduate of the Law School of the University of Wisconsin and was admitted to the bar on his 21st birthday. He opened his first law office at Spencer in 1879, later moving to Necedah at which place he was married to Mary B. Dawes of October 6th, 1880.

He practiced law in South Dakota and was a member of the first South Dakota Legislature. In 1892 he moved to Wisconsin and has spent the past thirty years practicing law at Stanley, Wisconsin.

Mr. Green leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Kaas of Council Bluff, Idaho, and three sons, Chas. A. of Park Rapids, Minnesota, Fred M. of Aberdeen, S. D., and Jesse D. of Stanley, Wis. The entire family was at his bed side hen the end came. Mr. Green was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Stanley.

Funeral services will be held from the First Presbyterian church at Stanley, on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 27th, at two o’clock.
